Nani Honu — Fine Art Greeting Cards

A playful island spirit gliding through swirling waters with beauty, charm, and aloha.

Nani Honu celebrates the joyful beauty of the Hawaiian sea turtle, or honu, surrounded by flowing water patterns and Pacific Island-inspired design. There is something so endearing about turtles — peaceful and gentle, yet full of personality — and this little honu has always felt especially playful to me.

In Hawaiʻi, honu are beloved symbols of wisdom, protection, endurance, and connection to the sea. I wanted this painting to capture that sense of beauty and spirit, while also bringing in a more decorative, playful energy through the bold patterns and flowing movement of the water.

The original painting is part of my Silver Lining Series, where transparent watercolor is paired with metallic silver linework. The bright colors, tribal-inspired forms, and rhythmic water design give Nani Honu a sense of movement and fun, while still honoring the grace and symbolism of the honu. It’s one of my best-selling pieces, and it has brought a lot of joy to many people over the years.

Whether you're sending a cheerful hello, a thoughtful note, or a little piece of island-inspired art, these greeting cards are miniature pieces of art meant to be enjoyed, shared, and treasured.

Art to share. Aloha to send.
