Peace of the Tropics — Fine Art Greeting Cards
A peaceful island encounter, where curiosity, beauty, and aloha rise gently to the surface.
Peace of the Tropics captures the charm and serenity of a Hawaiian sea turtle gliding just beneath the ocean’s surface, lifting up as if to say aloha. With the clear tropical water glowing in luminous blues and the sky stretching peacefully beyond, this painting holds that magical feeling of connection you sometimes experience in Hawaiʻi — an unexpected moment with nature that feels personal and unforgettable.
There is something so endearing about this honu. She feels peaceful, curious, and maybe even a little flirty, as if she has come up to greet you and share a moment in her beautiful ocean world. I wanted to capture not only the natural beauty of the turtle and the sea, but also that gentle spirit of presence and playfulness.
In Hawaiʻi, the honu is cherished as a symbol of wisdom, protection, endurance, and harmony with nature. To me, sea turtles are also wonderful reminders to slow down, breathe deeply, and move through life with grace.
Created in oil, the original painting allowed me to build rich color, softness, and depth in both the water and the sky. I loved capturing the light moving through the ocean, the peaceful surface line, and the curious personality of the turtle emerging into view. The result is a scene that feels calming, uplifting, and full of tropical joy.
Whether you're sending a thoughtful note, a birthday wish, a thank-you, or simply a little aloha, these greeting cards are miniature pieces of art meant to be enjoyed, shared, and treasured.
Art to share. Aloha to send.
