Soft, airy, and full of movement, Spring Air captures that wonderful moment when the world begins waking up again.

I painted this watercolor around the feeling of spring — fresh energy moving through the air, new growth beginning, and that sense that everything is opening up to possibility again. The cherry blossoms hold a special meaning for me, too, after spending six years working with a Japanese company during my professional snowboarding years.

One of the things I love most about this painting is its looseness. Watery blues and greens drift through the background, the blossoms seem to float across the surface, and unexpected colors appear within the shadows. The original also has shimmering detail throughout the background, catching the light and adding another layer of movement to the piece.

This crossbody purse brings that softness and color into something you can wear — with pale turquoise, pinks, greens, and flowing lines creating a light, artistic statement that feels equally at home with jeans, a summer dress, or an evening out.

The original Spring Air painting sold very quickly many years ago on Etsy, and it has remained one of those pieces that simply makes my heart happy.
