Honu Island Waters began as one of my watercolor paintings, inspired by the quiet beauty of Hawai‘i’s honu and the feeling of watching one move effortlessly through clear tropical water.
I love the contrast in this piece — the warm oranges and earthy markings of the turtle against layers of turquoise, aqua and ocean blue. Flowing silver linework moves throughout the painting like light dancing across the surface of the water, giving the whole piece a sense of movement and life.
On this blanket, the artwork becomes something you can actually wrap yourself in.
The front is soft and velvety with a detailed reproduction of the original painting, while the reverse is lined with plush sherpa fleece. It’s cozy without losing that bright, tropical feeling — perfect for cool mornings, curling up on the couch, movie nights, or adding a splash of island color to a bedroom or living space.

A note about the artwork:
The original painting includes metallic silver linework that changes subtly as the light moves across it. On the blanket, those details are reproduced within the printed image but will not have the reflective metallic shimmer of the original artwork.
